Dear Army of Angels,
Well, March went in a like a lamb and out like a … tornado!! Fortunately, we all came out of that alive. Please be on the look out as the Summer storms roll in, Florida weather can move in fast and get strong quickly.
This Stake is Amazing! You really are! In just 3 short months, we’ve nearly matched the baptisms we had all last YEAR!! It’s not a competition...but here is our leaderboard
1) Sanford Ward – 11
2) Tuskawilla – 8
3) Seminola – 4
4) Lake Emma – 4
5) Oviedo – 3
6) Wekiva – 1
7) Chuluota – 1
We’re doing great! The Lord is truly hastening the work in 2025, The Year of Gathering Israel. I just got off a last minute Zoom meeting with the entire Orlando mission where they celebrated 100 baptisms in a SINGLE MONTH! This is the first time this has ever happened in this mission!
Our goal this year is to have a total of 80 baptisms – enough to create a large branch. We can do it and Sanford is puttin’ on a clinic!! (That means they’re doing a really great job).
Easter is upon us (April 20th) and, understandably, our dear Sister Benz moved back to Kansas City to be closer to her beloved Chiefs (and her first grand baby). Unfortunately, we will miss her and her wonderful Easter Cantata. However, we can all do our part to make this a very special time of year. Invite a friend to your Unit’s Easter Sunday service. Or even better, invite 2 friends!! You can also share your favorite Easter scripture online. Here are some of my favorites:
Matthew 28:6 - “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
John 11:25–26 - “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”
1 Corinthians 15:20–22 - “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
Luke 24:5–6 - “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen…”
Romans 6:9 - “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.”
In short, do whatever is necessary to get the message of Jesus Christ to everyone possible. The week leading up to Christ’s death and subsequent resurrection was the pinnacle of Christ’s life and ministry. There is nothing that compares with his perfect Atonement for our sins, his humble sacrifice of his own life, and his resurrection. We are all beneficiaries of his grace.
The Book of Mormon, is indeed another testament of Jesus Christ and in 2 Nephi 25:26 we read, “And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.”
Next week is General Conference! We will have the unique opportunity to hear from a living Prophet and Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ! How amazing is that! We live in such an exciting time in the world. Yes, in the world there is much turmoil and great calamities, but there is also much to be optimistic about! The gospel is spreading across the nation at a rate never seen before. People across the world are covenanting with their Savior and taking up his banner and experiencing the blessings of doing so, both in this life and for the eternities. I dare say we are at turning point in the history of the world and we are lucky to be a part of it! I hope you see the majesty of this moment and feel the privilege of your part to play. We are all enlisted, and you are one of the elect Lake Mary Stake Army of Angels.
May your Easter be full of awe of the Savior’s complete and perfect Atonement. May you share it with others. I pray that you can feel of his presence and seek him this Holy Season. Enjoy General Conference!! Invite your friends!!
Throughout my life, many men and women whom I have regarded as great leaders have embraced the power of well-chosen books to refine their thinking and guide their actions. There’s even a time-honored tradition among military officers of maintaining a curated reading list—a “leadership bookshelf”—that offers a window into that leader’s personal philosophies and priorities.
A commitment to lifelong learning is beautifully echoed in scripture. In Doctrine and Covenants 88:118, we are counseled, “yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith.” President Nelson has taught, “Your mind is precious! It is sacred. Therefore, the education of one's mind is also sacred. Indeed, education is a religious responsibility.”
The books on this list have influenced my own life, leadership style, and thought process to varying degrees. They are a diverse array of books—spanning spiritual insights, business strategies, and personal growth—that have influenced the way I approach everyday challenges and decisions. I don’t necessarily agree with everything each book has to offer, so I will do my best to highlight some of the parts that stood out to me.
Each month, I’ll share several selections from my personal bookshelf. You are welcome to read along and reflect and on the ideas that have shaped my journey. I hope these books offer you a small window into my heart and mind and inspire you on your own path of continuous learning and growth. I look forward to great discussions of good (and not so good) books that have helped shape a little piece of each of us.
Stillness is the Key
by Ryan Holiday
During a particularly difficult period of time in my life, I sought out guidance and direction from my direct priesthood leader, Elder Daniel Amato of the Seventy. He proceeded to give me a blessing, and then he recommended this book. To be clear, it is not written by a general authority of the church and isn’t centered on a gospel theme, but the book had a profound effect on me.
The concept is relatively simple; our best thinking comes when we take the time to be still, calm our thoughts, quiet the outside noise, and give space for inspiration to surface without the pull of distraction.
I have since attempted to make time to sit in quiet contemplation on purpose. The world sometimes calls it meditation. I often level it up a little with some scripture reading, as well as thought and prayer journaling. For me, I must prioritize time in the silent early morning hours while everyone is still asleep to avoid as many disruptions as possible. It is here, while still calm from sleep and free from the anxious thoughts of the coming day when the voice of the Spirit speaks the clearest to my mind. This Spirit of revelation is better than any gong breathing exercise (not that they aren’t great, too!), but the purest form of stillness is obtaining the light and truth that the Spirit has to offer. But this type of revelation takes practice: we must ready our minds to receive it. Train our hearts to hear it. Discipline ourselves to prioritize it. And have the courage and diligence to follow it.
In Mark 4:39, we read about Christ’s physical miracles, “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” What storms can the Savior rebuke for you? And again in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God…”
I hope you enjoy the read! Again, this is not a church-based book, so there may be some things that aren’t quite in alignment with the doctrine of the gospel. If you’re ever concerned or confused, please give me a call, and we can chat about it! Keep Reading!!

This Easter season, we reflect on the Savior’s infinite Atonement and His triumphant Resurrection. Because He lives, we can find peace in our trials, strength in our callings, and hope in our future. As bearers of the Melchizedek Priesthood, we have a sacred responsibility to act in His name—to lift the weary, bless the brokenhearted, and guide our families and communities toward Him.
Let us be renewed by the promise of Easter. Let us minister more earnestly, serve more compassionately, and love more deeply. The tomb is empty. Christ lives. And because He lives, we can change, we can grow, and we can help others do the same.
May this sacred season inspire us to lead with humility and power, always pointing hearts to Jesus Christ—the true source of light and life.
This Easter season, our hearts turn to Jesus Christ—our Redeemer, our Comforter, and our Living Hope. As we remember His sacrifice and celebrate His Resurrection, we are reminded that because He lives, we can face each day with renewed faith and courage.
You, dear sisters, reflect His light through your love, service, and quiet strength. Like the women who first witnessed the risen Lord, you are witnesses of His reality and messengers of His hope. In your homes, ministering efforts, and daily discipleship, you help bring others to Christ.
Let this sacred season fill you with peace. Let His grace strengthen your heart, and let His example guide your service. He knows you. He loves you. And through Him, all things are made new.
With love and gratitude.
This Easter season, we celebrate the life, sacrifice, and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Because He lives, we can be forgiven, find peace in this life, and look forward to eternal life with our Heavenly Father. His Atonement is the ultimate expression of love and the foundation of our faith.
Young men, your theme reminds you of who you are and who you are becoming:
"I am a beloved son of God, and He has a work for me to do."
Christ’s resurrection empowers you to do that work with confidence and purpose. As you come unto Him and strive to be like Him, He will strengthen you, guide you, and magnify your efforts. You are not alone in this journey.
I love you. Your stake Young Men’s presidency loves you. Your Stake Presidency, bishoprics, advisers, and leaders love you and are cheering you on every step of the way. We see your potential and your strength, and we’re honored to serve alongside you.
For those soon-to-be newly minted Elders and have chosen to dedicate the next 2 years of your life to Him. We salute you; we honor you, and we stand by you. Welcome to the Elders Quorum and to a very elite group of men who still choose Jesus. Welcome to the Melchizedek Priesthood. May you honor it, your quorum and your Savior forever.
God be with you, until we meet again.
This Easter, remember that He lives—and because He lives, so can your faith, your purpose, and your future.
Happy Easter. Keep moving forward with Him.

In John 15:13 it reads “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Christs’ act of love is the single greatest gift that we will ever know. As you prepare for Holy week this year, we yearn for each of you to seek for ways to find His greater love.
For every person this will look different. Earnest prayer will reveal to you how you will need to accomplish this- whether it is listening to conference talks, reading the scriptures, attending the temple, immersing yourself in gospel music, serving others, studying Come Follow Me or by some other means. We know as you strive to find His greater love in your life that you will find peace and comfort through all of life’s trials and difficulties.

This Easter season, we remember the Savior’s ultimate act of love—His Atonement and Resurrection. Because He lives, we have hope in every hardship, peace in every storm, and the promise of eternal joy.
Each day in seminary, you are learning of Him, drawing nearer to Him, and building a foundation of faith that will guide your life. As you study His word and strive to follow Him, remember that your quiet efforts matter. Just like those first witnesses of the empty tomb, your testimony can shine brightly in a world that needs His light.
Thank you for your faith, your diligence, and your desire to walk with Christ. He lives—and because He lives, your life has divine purpose and infinite potential.
Easter is a very exciting holiday for children. They look forward to egg hunts and Easter baskets. As parents, it's also enjoyable to carry out these traditions. Let us remember, however, that the main focus should be on our Resurrected Savior. What family traditions would help your children learn why Easter is so sacred to us? How can you teach them about Easter in a way that helps them feel Heavenly Father’s love?
It is likely that your child will learn the song “When He Comes Again” (82-83) or “Did Jesus Really Live Again?” (64) in primary school this month. Both of these are beautiful songs celebrating Easter and the Savior. I encourage you to learn and sing them as a family as part of your Easter celebrations. The greatest Easter gift we can give our children is the knowledge of their Savior and all that He has done for them.
This Easter season, we celebrate the risen Savior—Jesus Christ, who knows your heart, walks your path, and offers hope in every step of your journey. Because He lives, your future is full of purpose, promise, and possibility.
In this season of growth and decision-making, you are not alone. The Lord is intimately aware of your dreams, doubts, and daily efforts. He invites you to draw near to Him, to find peace in His presence, and to trust in His timing. As you study His gospel, serve His children, and build righteous relationships, you are laying the foundation for a joyful and meaningful life.
Let Easter remind you that you are deeply loved, eternally valued, and destined for greatness in God’s plan. He lives—and because He lives, so does your hope.

As we celebrate Easter, we rejoice in the risen Lord—Jesus Christ, who conquered death and offers each of us new life through His Atonement. Because He lives, we can learn, grow, and change. We can find answers, strength, and peace in His gospel.
In Sunday School, we don’t just study doctrine—we come to know the Savior. Every discussion, question, and insight draws us closer to Him. Thank you, teachers, for creating spaces where faith is strengthened. And thank you, class members, for coming each week with a desire to learn and share.
This sacred season reminds us that gospel learning is not just about information—it’s about transformation. As we continue to seek Him through scripture and the Spirit, we will come to know for ourselves: He lives.
Easter testifies of the Savior’s triumph over death and His power to unite families for eternity. Because He lives, the grave is not the end—and temple and family history work takes on sacred, eternal meaning.
As we gather names, tell stories, and perform ordinances for our ancestors, we participate in the great work of redemption. We connect heaven and earth, past and present. Each name submitted and each ordinance performed is a step toward fulfilling God’s promise of eternal families.
This Easter season, let the reality of the Resurrection inspire renewed effort. Make time to discover a name, visit the temple, or share a story of faith with loved ones. In doing so, you bring light to both sides of the veil—and joy to your own heart.
Because He lives, families can be forever.

Easter is the ultimate message of hope: Jesus Christ lives. Because He lives, hearts can heal, lives can change, and all people can find peace through His gospel. This good news is too precious to keep to ourselves.
As disciples of Christ, we are each called to share His light. Whether through a conversation with a neighbor, a heartfelt social media post, or a simple invitation to church or a family activity, our efforts to share the gospel make a difference. You don’t have to be perfect—just willing.
This Easter season, pray for opportunities to invite, testify, and love. Small acts of faith can open eternal doors. Like the women at the empty tomb, let us joyfully declare: He is not here, for He is risen.
